Why I'm Voting Republican

I keep reading that the 2012 elections are about which party will make our lives better. The life the Democrats are offering is not one I desire for me, my children, or my grandchildren.

Democrats try to convince us that government confiscating our money for distribution to others is a better way than us donating it to the charitable institutions of our choice. They seem to ignore the fact that no government program in our history has ever spent our money prudently.

They also ignore the fact that a person who stands in line to get free money receives nothing but money, whereas a person who gets support from a charitable organization, like a church, also gets access to a community of people who care about them while caring for them. This "community" aspect of support is worth much more than money because people helping people enriches everyone's lives in a multitude of ways, not the least of which is a positive role model for all children who are involved.

Democrats tell us that redefining the fundamental concept of marriage is necessary for those who live alternate life styles to be fulfilled. I do not believe or accept discrimination for any reason, whether it be race, gender, or sexual orientation. However, I believe marriage requires a man and a woman, anything else can be recognized as civil unions. I do not accept the premise that two people of the same sex living together must be married for them to be fulfilled. Unmarried heterosexual couples live together all the time and seem to be fulfilled just fine.

Democrats also tell us that we dare not infringe on women's reproductive rights. That we owe women unrestricted access to abortions. Over 90% of babies removed from the womb after 24 to 25 weeks would survive if treated properly. These 1% of abortions (late-term) account for more than 16,000 babies being killed every year.

That is more than the combined murders in all 74 U.S. cities with populations over 250,000! It is despicable to sacrifice all these children under the guise of women's rights.

A woman has three months after determining she is pregnant to decide if she wants to terminate the pregnancy. If she can't decide by then, don't kill the child!

Fourteen states and Washington D.C. do not restrict late-term abortions due to the active lobbying of liberal Democrats. They even allow having part of the baby pulled from the womb before they kill it. And if the baby fails to die as expected, they can set it aside and let it succumb to the lack of nourishment. Barbaric is the only word to describe such behavior.

This is the Democrat Party that is seeking your vote in November. For me the choice is clear, I'm voting for every Republican on the ballot!
